What types of wool socks do you make? We make two types. Our Merino socks are crew-length socks made from 80% Merino wool. Comfortable all year round, as Merino performs equally well in both cold and warm conditions. We also make Wool socks – a longer, knee-high style, knitted in a thicker quality with 70% recycled lambswool. Warm, durable, and designed to stay up comfortably. Do you offer different sizes? Yes. Our socks come in: Small (34–37), Medium (38–41), and Large (42–45). Selected patterns are also available in Extra Large (46–49). Sizes are based on shoe size and are approximate. Fit may vary depending on foot shape and instep height. Why do patterned Merino socks fit differently? Because they are knitted with different pattern structures. Depending on the number of yarns used in the pattern, some styles feel slimmer while others feel roomier. On our website, each pattern is described as slim, regular, or generous in fit. Why do you use polyamide and elastane in your wool socks? Wool needs a little help, so we use polyamide to make the socks more durable, and elastane for a better fit. We also reinforce the heel and toe, where the wear and tear is greatest on wool socks. Why do you use merino wool for socks and lamb’s wool for raggsockor (heavyweight socks)? We knit our merino wool socks in a finer gauge for year-round use. Our thick wool socks are knit in a heavier gauge using recycled wool—just like in the old days, when people would unravel old, worn-out wool sweaters to knit their heavy socks. Does wool keep you warm when damp? Yes. Wool can absorb a large amount of moisture without feeling wet and continues to provide warmth even when damp. Are the socks washable? Yes. Wool socks do not need frequent washing. Air them between uses and wash only when needed. Use a wool program and avoid spinning. Do the patterns have a meaning? Yes. Every pattern has its own story. Keeps your feet comfortable and cared for.
