- I wanted to honor the immense work Carl Linnaeus has done for all of us, while continuing the tradition of creating beautiful floral patterns – something women have done throughout history to enrich everyday life and pass traditions on to future generations. My favorite garden flower is the iris, and it was a natural choice for me to include freesia lilies in my wedding bouquet. I hope to capture the love of our astonishing nature and all its beautiful flowers in this pattern.
The story behind the pattern "Fager" |

The name of the pattern, Fager, is a tribute to the graceful plant family Liliaceae. The lily is the most well-known plant in this family, but it also includes popular garden plants such as iris, as well as rarer and more delicate species like Lilium formosanum, the long-flowered trumpet lily. Carl Linnaeus, botanist, physician, and zoologist, created the modern system for naming and classifying plants. He is known as the "father of modern taxonomy." Born in 1707 in rural Småland, he studied at Uppsala University, where he became professor of medicine and botany in 1740. He traveled across Europe to classify plants and animals and continued his work until his death in 1778. Linnaeus is one of Sweden's greatest scientific pioneers. ![]() Designer Åse Öjbro, founder of Öjbro Vantfabrik, creates with wearable art as her foundation. She previously worked as an artist before turning to functional design. She has created this stylized floral pattern, where lilies and their leaves are framed by a two-toned fence – reflecting how we often enclose our gardens today. - I wanted to honor the immense work Carl Linnaeus has done for all of us, while continuing the tradition of creating beautiful floral patterns – something women have done throughout history to enrich everyday life and pass traditions on to future generations.
